FOMG were asked to create the new brand identity and pack designs for Sigel Gelati, building on the essence of the brand with a new, fresh and ownable look.

A new visual identity that could compete with other premium ice cream retailers.

Sigel Gelati needed to refresh its ice cream multipack packaging for American market.
The Sicilian-based company teamed up with FOMG to create a packaging design that would attract a mainstream audience but retain its charm.


Fresh, contemporary look, with a clear typographic system.

Before designing the new packaging, FOMG analyzed the current landscape of American ice cream brands. and found that most of these brands focused more on flavor and less on messaging. FOMG created a design scheme that reflected trends in the ice cream category while maintaining strong brand elements from the original Sigel Gelati packaging.

Ice cream doesn’t have to try too hard to look delicious, but for Sigel, their current packaging really didn’t deliver on this mandate. Our design was all about the Kones and creating a mouthwatering pack that consumers couldn’t help but pick up.

For Baby Bingo, we incorporated direct product symbolism within a modern design, that works jointly to deliver distinct shelf presence for the range of brand name products.

The collaboration between Sigel and FOMG meant that the identity needed to be iconic. Quiet, confident and appealing, the packaging design refines the brand to its essence of fantastic ingredients and flavors. At the same time, the simplicity feels homespun and practical. The warm look graphically conveys the wholesomeness of the ingredients, and highlights them.

FOMG developed a cohesive series of indulgent, larger-than-life taste expressions to reflect the brand’s effusive personality. A strong visual architecture allowed us to expedite consumer navigation, premiumise brand presence and amplify appetite appeal, while retaining the beloved Sicilian feel and charm.

Sigel believes in good, pure ingredients and the stories of the people that bring them to you. We reflected the principles they pioneered from their homeland of Sicily.
